ABOUT OUR SERVICES

  • Diesel fuel sold without dye added, known as clear diesel, is a road-grade product that is available to the general public. This type of fuel is meant for use by the vehicles that travel the roads everyday like cars, trucks, SUVs, commercial on road equipment. Clear diesel fuel can also be used in boats.

Clear diesel has low sulfur levels and is legally taxable. Any vehicle that has a diesel engine and is licensed by the state for on-road use must use the clear fuel.

Our minimum delivery for on road fuel is 200 gallons but we can deliver smaller quantities for an additional fee. We do not sell on road fuel at our main location.

  • Dyed diesel fuel is also known as #2 Diesel Fuel or Off Road Diesel Fuel.

Most dyed diesel sold in the U.S. comes with a red coloring and is not usually available for purchase by the public. However, you may occasionally see this product at a fuel station. By law, red diesel fuel is only sold for use in off-road vehicles like tractors, heavy construction equipment, and generators. Because it is not supposed to be used for on-road purposes, this fuel is not taxed within the United States.

Diesel that is designated for use by U.S. government vehicles is dyed blue instead of red. This color variation helps to keep clear fuel used by the general public separate from that used by government on-road vehicles.

A common misconception about dyed diesel fuel is that it causes loss of performance when used. There is no proven link between the different dyes and lost performance because the chemical make-up of dyed and clear diesel is the same.

Our minimum delivery for on road fuel is 100 gallons but we can deliver for less for an additional fee. We do sell off road fuel at our main location.

Legal Information About Dyed Diesel Fuel

Dyed diesel is non-taxed so the federal and state governments are strict about it not being used in on-road vehicles. The laws surrounding the use of dyed fuel range from financial penalties to significant jail time.

    • Distributors cannot knowingly transport dyed diesel fuel with the intention of supplying it to on-road vehicle owners. Also, retail locations that carry this product cannot knowingly sell it for use in an on-road vehicle.

    • Retail customers cannot knowingly use dyed diesel in an on-road vehicle. A law enforcement officer can take a sample from any gas tank to check the fuel if given a reason. If dye is found in an on-road vehicle, the penalties can run into the thousands of dollars.

    • Removing dye from fuel is a criminal offense at both the state and federal levels. The dyes leave behind minute traces that lab testing can identify, so it isn’t effective anyway. Penalties for selling or using dyed diesel with the dye removed are very serious.

Is Dyed Diesel or Off-road Diesel Heating Oil?

Yes, dyed diesel and off-road diesel are acceptably used as heating oil. Dyed diesel and off-road diesel these days are typically ultra-low sulfur diesel. Heating oil can be low sulfur or high sulfur in content under EPA and most state laws. So heating oil sometimes cannot be dyed diesel (when used for off-road equipment or agricultural use) but dyed/off-road diesel can always be used for heating oil and conform to the necessary specification required by heating oil furnaces.

  • Kerosene oil is a flammable liquid which is used in many industries and homes around the world as a fuel for light, heat and power. It is generally non-viscous and clear; however viscous substances such as wax and other thicker substances can be made from kerosene. Kerosene is also known as paraffin or lamp oil, and kerosene lamps are sometimes still used in place of electric lights. Kerosene has a higher viscosity and lower density than typical heating oil, which means that it has a lower flash point.

Kerosene is more highly refined, it burns cleaner than typical heating oil, which could make furnaces that burn kerosene more fuel-efficient. Kerosene also produces fewer fumes due to its lack of impurities, though there is still a slight risk for carbon monoxide byproducts.

Kerosene’s uses vary dramatically from fuel for oil lamps to cleaning agents, jet fuel, heating oil or fuel for cooking. It can be used safely and efficiently to get great results in many areas. There are few oils which can be used in such a wide range of applications which makes kerosene very popular oil.

We only deliver Kerosene 200 gallons and above. We do not sell any kerosene tanks or drums. We only carry clear kerosene and are no longer carrying dyed kerosene. We do not sell kerosene here at the main location.

  • Propane, sometimes known as liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG, is a gas normally compressed and stored as a liquid. It is nontoxic, colorless, and virtually odorless; an identifying odor is added so it can be detected. Propane is commonly used for space and water heating, for cooking, and as fuel for engine applications such as forklifts, farm irrigation engines, fleet vehicles, and buses; however, its applications are rapidly growing due to new technology developments. When used as vehicle fuel, propane is known as propane autogas. Propane is clean, affordable, reliable, and abundant.

We offer residential and commercial propane services. Our tanks are rent free as long as you are home heating with it. We do not set tanks just for gas logs or stoves. We do not sell any of our propane tanks.
